Kenya Kirura washed
Cultivated in the fertile highlands of Kiambu County, Kenya Kirura is a shining example of the rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship of Kenyan coffee. This batch is sourced from the Komothai coffee washing station and is carefully crafted to bring out its vibrant acidity and refined complexity.
What makes this coffee special? It’s the perfect harmony of fruit and flowers.
Expect bright, juicy acidity with notes of fresh orange and ripe cherry, balanced by delicate floral aromas that add elegance to every sip. The silky mouthfeel and lingering sweetness make it a truly unforgettable drink.
Behind every cup of Kenya Kirura is the dedication of the smallholder farmers of Komothai Coffee Cooperative Society in Kiambu District. Set in the fertile highlands north of Nairobi, these farmers grow their coffee at high altitudes, where the rich volcanic soil and cool climate create the perfect conditions for the cherries to ripen slowly, adding sweetness and complexity.
Each farmer takes special care of his trees, hand-picking only the ripest cherries. These are then delivered to Komothai’s coffee washing station, where traditional Kenyan double fermentation processing is used to develop the coffee’s characteristic purity and vibrancy.
